When Do You Find the Time?

Every time I am asked this question, and that has been a lot lately, I think of my high school pottery teacher, Mr. Ludwig. At some point during our four-year journey together, I was complaining that I didn’t have enough time to do whatever it was he was asking me to do. He very wisely responded that we all have the same 24 hours in a day. To which I am sure I either made up an additional excuse or rolled my eyes and walked away. (I am quite sure those who teach high school get to skip purgatory and go straight to heaven.) Anyway, his response meant little to me then, but now I totally get it. And that is my answer. We are all given the same 24 hours in a day, and it is up to each of us to decide how we spend them.

My guess is that many of you have something you would like to do but can’t seem to find the time. What are you doing now that while good, may not be as good as that other thing you would like to do? Is there an area of your life that if cut out you wouldn’t miss it (that was my TV area)? Are you being called to do more? I believe the answer for each of us is yes.

The picture is of a bridge I made in pottery. We are not all called to be artists, but we can all have fun trying.
